The Act on Protection
Against Accidents (2003:778) involves, among other
things, the property owner and tenant having joint
responsibility for systematic fire prevention
work (SFPW) being conducted throughout the entire
period of use of the building or installation.
Included in this is the need for the fire prevention
to be documented.
With the Jetas method the work is simple to administer
and the incontrovertible documentation obtained
is, of course, a great advantage if the authorities
conduct an inspection.
RECI
Industri AB
employs the Jetas method in order to document
its fire prevention with, for example, lower insurance
premiums as a result.
This is what the Swedish Rescue Services Agency
has to say:
”For each building or installation
there should be documentation of the fire prevention
which is sufficiently comprehensive to ensure
that reasonable fire prevention measures are taken
and kept in good working order.”
This is what is stated in the Swedish Rescue
Services Agency’s general advice and comments
on the systematic fire prevention work SRVFS 2004:3
The general advice relates to the Act (2003:778)
on Protection Against Accidents that has been
in force since 1 January 2004 and which, among
other things, states that the property owner and
the tenant have a joint responsibility for a systematic
fire prevention work (SFPW) being conducted throughout
the entire period of use of the building or installation.
Included in this is the need for the fire prevention
to be documented.
